THE WHAT? AmorePacific Group has reported its results for the third quarter of the current financial year. The K-beauty behemoth saw net sales drop 5.7 percent yoy to KRW963.35 billion, while operating profit decreased 13 percent.

THE DETAILS Net profit, however, rose an impressive 29 percent, which AmorePacific attributed to equity gains from affiliates, per a report published by the Korea Times.  

THE WHY? Drilling down on those sales figures, AmorePacific said that increased sales in Japan, Europe, the US and the Middle East helped offset a lackluster performance in China, e-commerce and duty free.
