THE WHAT? 3M has elected Audrey Choi, previously the Chief Sustainability Officer and Chief Marketing Officer at Morgan Stanley, to its Board of Directors as of August 9, 2023. This decision has increased the board size from 10 to 11 members.

THE DETAILS Choi served as Morgan Stanley’s first Chief Sustainability Officer from 2017-2022 and was the Chief Marketing Officer between 2017-2021. During her 16 years at Morgan Stanley, she initiated the Global Sustainable Finance Group, the Institute for Sustainable Investing, and the Community Development Finance Group. Before her tenure at Morgan Stanley, Choi held policy positions in the U.S. Government, including a role at the White House’s Council of Economic Advisers.

THE WHY? 3M’s CEO, Mike Roman, stated that Audrey’s experience in sustainability and her leadership roles in both the private sector and government would be valuable to 3M’s board and its future endeavours.
