THE DETAILS The American e-commerce behemoth is accused of upping fees to sellers, punishing those who sold goods for less on other platforms and overcharging shoppers, per a report published by the Financial Times. The competition authority also claims that Amazon has obstructed its investigation.

THE WHY? The antitrust regulator has stepped up efforts to crack down on monopolies in the US and this suit is the latest in a long line of similar cases citing tech giants such as Google, Microsoft  and Meta that have been launched under President Biden’s administration, the Financial Times writes.
